Advocating for Strong Communities by Advocating for Strong Libraries

We know the power of a strong library: libraries transform and empower our communities. To ensure librarians have the resources to sustain this important work, the HLA Legislative Committee formed with a mission to advocate for Hawaii’s libraries and librarians. This newly formed committee is composed of librarians from public, academic, school, and special libraries. Join our panel to hear how the committee is working toward facilitating communication with lawmakers, library employees, and the community on issues related to the role of libraries in society as well as legislative issues that have the potential to affect libraries.
